Did Jack H. Dellastatious prevent Centerville citizens from voting on whether or not to participate in Utopia?

The Verdict: Yes

In 2004, the Utah State Senate proposed a bill (SB 66) that would require a vote by the people on long-term telecommunications.  In order to circumvent this bill, Centerville City Council members Paul Cutler and Jack Dellastatious voted to prevent the people of Centerville from voting on whether or not to approve UTOPIA.  They then voted to approve UTOPIA before SB 66 could be signed in to law.  Paul Cutler and Jack Dellastatious prevented the people of Centerville from voting on becoming involved in UTOPIA.

Does Jack H. Dellastatious want to put Light Rail on Main?

The Verdict: Yes

This issue required some investigation.  During his tenure as a member of the Centerville City Council,  Jack H. Dellastatious supported putting light rail on Main Street.  Also, it is important to note that he endorses Paul Cutler for Mayor and also Tami Fillmore for Centerville City Council, who both have supported light rail on Main Street.  It is because of these facts and his history of supporting light rail on Main Street, that Jack H. Dellastatious will continue to support light rail on Main Street.

Did Jack H. Dellastatious play a role in acquiring the UTOPIA debt for Centerville City?

The Verdict: Yes

Jack H. Dellastatious served on the Centerville City Council from January 2004 until January 2008.  He has a consistent record of voting for UTOPIA debt.

Here are the Facts:

In minutes recorded from the Centerville City Council meeting dated March 9, 2004, Jack H. Dellastatious votes to pledge sales tax revenue to UTOPIA.  Please note that Paul Cutler was a city councilman at this time, and also voted for it.

Recorded on minutes for the Centerville City Council dated June 15, 2004, Jack H. Dellastatious made a motion to approve Centerville’s membership in UTOPIA.  He voted for it in the affirmative.  It is important to note that Paul Cutler was a member of the Centerville City Council at this time, and also voted to approve UTOPIA.
